"Everything was amazing! The portions were large and delicious!
We sat at the counter and watched our breakfast be prepared -- which we were hesitant about at first--but it ended up being really cool and entertaining!
The homemade corned beef has was to die for, along with the home fries and pancakes.
My boyfriend loved his ultimate breakfast sandwich on Portuguese sweet bread!
If we ever make it back to the cape we will definitely return!
"Best breakfast on the Cape! Super cute location: Very quaint and clean. Make sure you bring cash! A sign on the door mentioned they were cash only. Hubby and I got breakfast sandwiches with turkey bacon and home fries. So. Good. I don't normally eat eggs, but I'm glad I ordered the Old Friend sandwich. Nice and cheesy with plenty of bacon.
Hub's croissany sandwich was buttery and flaky. He used a lot of napkins! LOL!
Home fries. OMG THESE HOME FRIES! Home fries are difficult to make, apparently, [because] no one can make them both flavorful and crispy, but Red Cottage can. Nice onion flavor with crunchy, crispy edges.
I wish I had a bigger stomach and wallet, [because] this was a huge menu with a lot of tasty-looking options.
A lot of reviews mentioned how small it was inside? I don't know. It was the size of a Cracker Barrel, but way bigger than most of the places we've eaten at on the Cape. We've learned that a long wait means GOOD FOOD. Don't let the lines scare you away.
"New additions to the menu mostly lunch items. Scones, popovers, homemade hash, bangers all a must try.
Parking is questionable and the fried only will grow from today on.
So now that I think of it. Please stay away so I can get a seat.
Seriously this is s must when in the area"
"Been here twice now. Delicious! The eggs Napoli are some of the best eggs Benedict I've ever had. Would highly recommend during a visit to the cape"
"Great spot for breakfast, it has a vintage Cape Cod vibe, decor includes numerous B&W framed photos of the old Cape Cod. We had a late breakfast, food was great (fantastic French toast). John our server was friendly and efficient. It does get crowded so expect to wait during prime time."
"Gem of Cape Cod."
"Quaint, wonderful place. Excellent waitstaff. Friends and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast. We wished are stay on the Cape was longer because we wanted to go back again!"
"Where the locals go"
"Since 1960 I have been going to the Red Cottage. In the sixties it was a small grocery store, and grill, a forerunner to 7-11, owned by Miss Tully. Under new ownership, it has become the go-to breakfast place in the mid-cape area.
A varied menu of omelettes, waffles and other fare, would make any breakfast goer happy. The American style lunch menu includes sandwiches, burgers and lobster roll. In the last few years, dinner has been offered, mostly on weekends.
Breakfast is definitely the best meal at the Red Cottage. Sunday mornings can be very busy, however, the line moves rather quickly."
“good reason it's so crowded”
"Seems there is always a line to get in. BUT it does move fast. Place is quaint, service friendly, very efficient without seeming to rush you.
It has to have the best breakfast on cape for the money.
The corned beef hash is better than mine !!!!! Irish bangers authentic. Everything is great.
Portions more than adequate, in fact "almost" too much.
Very good value, considering the quality of the food and service.
This is a local diner, not a high end restaurant, in here it's all about the food."
“Best breakfast on the Cape”
"Great options, huge portions and friendly staff. This is the best breakfast joint on the Cape as far as what I've experienced. It does get busy but that is indicative of its excellence. One of the few places in Massachusetts that I've found that offers a traditional full Irish breakfast. Way too many good menu options to recommend just one but the corned beef hash is always a must have."
“One of the best on cape”
"Great food and service. Highly recommended if you are in this area. Parking is limited and you may need to wait to be seated as place is mostly full. When it's raining, they even provide umbrellas for people waiting. What a nice touch!"
"Best breakfast place I have ever been to."
"Worth every penny. The corned beef hash and the home fries are some of the best we've ever had. Just remember to bring money with you since they don't take credit cards - cash only.
"There were so many choices, I will have to return and return and return back there. Food was delicious. Great little spot. Bring cash - No ccards here. :)"
"It is such a cute, quaint place to have breakfast or lunch! It's a family favorite! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is so cozy. The old fashioned pictures they have on the wall are so nice as they depict the Cape from an earlier time. I was there this past week and had the Cheeseburger with side house salad and the dressing was delicious! The service is great too, they always have a smile and you can see how hard they all work to make it a great little restaurant!"
"Great menu and very good service! Delightful! Best corned beef hash ever."
"Worth every penny! Great food but kinda pricey. Between three people it was $60 for breakfast (with the tip), but everything was fresh and made to order. We'll definitely be back!"
"Had the Plantation breakfast. Grits were buttery, eggs perfect - the breakfast as a whole was a good find. Next time I'll try the Puritan breakfast."
"I would recommend trying this place the food was awesome, great service I got the Turo which came with French toast with banana, poached eggs, the bacon was really good. My boyfriend got the crepes."
"The Harwich. 2 eggs over easy, hash, rashers and an english muffin, side of bangers. The best."
"EVERYTHING!!! But I love the rashers, best corned beef hash and pumpkin pancakes- so yummy!"
"The best breakfast place on cape cod. Hands down!"
"I have no idea what they do to their bacon, but it is incredible."
